We'll be open with free sampling of this year's Manoir Du Carra Beaujolais Nouveau release all day long. "The Manoir du Carra Village has been with the store ever since I started," says Planet Wine aficionado, Joseph Kulp. "I've always found it fresh, fruity and fun with an extra layer of spice (most years) that elevate it above the non-village level Beaujolais I've had in the past.  It doesn't have the same yeasty nose as others as well making it easy for even the non-nouveau drinker." ABOUT THE WINE Nouveau originated about a century ago as a 'vin de l'annee' - a cheap and cheerful drink produced by locals to celebrate the end of the harvest season. Manoir du Carra is located in the small town of Denice, south of Burgundy, in the heart of the Beaujolais area. The property dates back to 1850.  The Beaujolais Villages Nouveau is deeper red, with flavors reminiscent of strawberries and roses, plus a mineral component.
