Selvedge in Detail. Considered the highest quality denim in the world, Japanese Selvdege denim is crafted from vintage looms that create unique out-seams known as self-edge, aka selv-edge. This production method prevents fraying and can be seen in the contrast interior seams on the inside of your jeans, denoting quality and craftmanship. There's more that makes Selvedge denim special. It's rare. Only 10% of the world's denim is Selvedge - it's a lengthy process to craft it. The looms produce a denser weave, making the denim sturdier and longer lasting.
